Spoilers, it all depends on how much you yourself have seen, i made the
thread so you have to have knowledge to understand it
So i have been wondering quite a while if Gol D. Roger had eaten a devilfruit, and started looking if i could find any easter eggs in the manga about it, and of course i was not able to find anything. I then started to look into different forums etc. about it and i ended up learning that most people believe that he was super strong and the closest thing he had to a devil fruit was his amazing haki abilites.
I had pretty much given up at this point, since there was really no reasson to look into it anymore, i was just being curious to begin with.
BUT! I was also seeing the anime at that point, and when i came to the ''New World''(after timeskip) part i saw that in the opening and later on with hearing/seeing from Silvers Rayleigh that Gold D. Roger had a Straw Hat which he gave to Shanks which then again gave it to Luffy. My mind starting going around again and remembering back to the Loguetown arc episode 51(''filler episode'') and a certain song which played in a pub where Luffy, Zoro and the Buggy crew members were eating, it started at 02:51 and went like this: ''The Jolly Roger With a Straw Hat.. He, yes he, Will Surely Do It! This town's gonna Party, Party! Gomu gomu no Yeah -Yeah!
Maybe this specific song is not known to many, and it is a local song at Loguetown, and that Gol D. Rogers did not like to show of his ''gomu gomu'' powers(like Luffy) to the public, and therefore it was only a few that knew about it, and those who knew had no reasson to tell it to others.
Maybe even Eiichiro Oda know about this and is keeping it a secret to the fans at the moment, and people like to say that Luffy and Roger's are very alike, while Ace and Roger's were not, considering their relationship.
This is ofcourse just a theory, and i myself don't really believe it,so please tell me what you think.
